The City of Everett Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulance Service, established on May 5, 2023, represents a significant modernization of the city’s emergency medical response system. It marked the first time the city operated its own fire-based ambulance as part of the Everett Fire Department (EFD). The Everett BLS ambulance is staffed and operated by trained Everett firefighter-EMTs, allowing for faster response times through the coordinated dispatch of both fire units and ambulance services. This integration enhances on-scene coordination during emergencies and expands the overall medical capabilities of the department, all with the goal of providing residents and visitors of the City of Everett with the highest level of care possible.
