**IMPORTANT UPDATES TO CITY ORDINANCE:**
SECTION 8-25. Location of Smoke Detectors in Dwellings
(C0026-26)
(a) In addition to the requirements of M.G.L ch.148 Sections 26E, 26F, and 26F and a half, the City of Everett shall require 1 smoke alarm inside each bedroom and sleeping area without regard to the date of construction of the dwelling unit.
(b) This requirement shall be enforced for all certificates of occupancy or habilitability inspections, any new tenancy, any transfer of possessioon or sale as ordered by the fire chief.
